Full description

A brightly lit pinball playfield under a glass top, dominated by a great snow-capped mountain or volcano rising in the centre, its peak orange-brown and its snow white, reflected as a red-orange streak down the middle of the lower field. The lower half is painted as rippling green-teal water on both sides of the mountain, with a pale gold lower deck apron carrying a compass-rose motif and a dark blue globe-and-arrow emblem dead centre. Two rows of teal-glowing round lamp inserts (seven a side) sit low on the water, flanked by yellow '500' value markers and small painted chemical flasks with pink and red liquid. A vertical line of white circular value medallions runs down the mountain reading 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90 and 100 with '000' beneath each, ending in a red 'EXTRA BALL' circle. The upper playfield is a fan of radiating green and blue speed lines behind three bumpers: two pop bumpers with white caps and green starburst centres over pink pedestal bases, either side of a central blue triangular shield housing a painted crest. A small wizard figure in a yellow pointed hat and blue robe stands in each top corner. Painted steel ramps angle down from the top on both sides. White text on the blue wings reads '5,000 points & ADVANCE'. A cream instruction card with red serif heading sits on the lower right; the metal apron and lockdown bar are dull grey and scuffed.

A painted four-player backglass framed by a pale wooden cabinet edge, showing a comic-style Alaskan arctic landscape. The right two-thirds is a wide vista: jagged snow-capped mountains in grey-blue, a deep blue bay, a low orange-and-yellow sunset sky with a pink and magenta band across the top, and a pink river winding between two white headlands at upper right. The huge title ALASKA sits across the top centre in blocky orange-and-gold slab capitals with icicles hanging from the letters. Down the left side is a vertical column of four rectangular score windows with snow caps on their frames, each paired with a coloured numbered circle and the word PLAYER in white caps: 1 in green, 2 in orange, 3 in pink-red, 4 in amber. In the foreground right, a huge yellow-brown bear rears up on its hind legs facing left with its mouth open and one paw raised. Below it an older bearded man in a red parka, green trousers and a trapper hat sits on a yellow wooden barrel, holding a long rifle across his lap, with a small dog in a red coat beside him. Two black-and-yellow penguins stand on the ice at bottom centre. Far right a small figure hangs upside down from a cliff ledge, and dark winged insects hover over the ice. Reflections of room lights streak across the glass.

Set against all this, the title ALASKA is lettered in enormous salmon-orange capitals with black shadows, snow-crusted along the top, spanning the full width of the magenta sunset sky.

Illuminated backglass panel set in a cream cabinet, dominated by a hot pink and magenta arctic sunset sky streaked with orange cloud bands over a distant dark mountain range.
