Fingerprint: Symmetrical chariot-race scene with tall blue fluted column at centre, two chariots flanking column with four white horses on left and bare-chested charioteer on right, BEN HUR title in orange block capitals with white faces and dark blue shadowing on wrapped banner around column, classical cityscape with temples and triumphal arch
The single most memorable element is the tall blue fluted column in the centre carrying the enormous orange-on-white BEN HUR lettering on a wrapped banner, with a tiny word placard pinned above the column capital. Second is the symmetrical pair of chariots: four white horses on the left and a bare-chested charioteer on the right, flanking the column like a bookend. The whole image has a striking sepia-green oxidised patina, as though the paint has been chemically aged, with a heavy cream-coloured cabinet frame visible around all four edges.

A painted, hand-rendered backglass in a deliberately faded antique palette of olive green, mustard yellow, sky blue and terracotta orange. At the centre stands a tall fluted blue-and-white column or pedestal with a stepped, altar-like base; wrapped around its middle is a broad banner carrying the main title in huge orange block capitals with white faces and dark blue shadowing, reading BEN on the upper line and HUR below. On the left, a charioteer with a crested, plumed helmet and a patterned breastplate leans forward in a bronze-and-red chariot pulled by four white horses with orange harness trappings, galloping left. On the right, a bare-chested muscular man with dark hair and a lion-skin-patterned kilt braces himself in a second chariot, arm raised holding the reins. Behind them a classical cityscape of colonnaded temples, a triumphal arch at far left, an obelisk at far right, all rendered in the same washed greens and blues. Ornamental friezes and rope-and-anchor motifs run along the lower edge. No score windows or instruction text are visible; the glass is heavily soiled, craquelured and worn, with the paint oxidised to a flat matte film.
