Fingerprint: BUFFALO BILL in curved yellow-red ribbon lettering arcing over large circular medallion, blond man in floppy white cowboy hat holding rifle upright with white horse head rearing in front, woman at right in profile wearing tall blue-white feathered war bonnet and yellow beaded fringed dress, descending left-column of score values on blue rounded plaques each paired with black bison silhouette, MILLION in white block capitals

Distinctive

The most memorable element is the huge circular portrait medallion of a blond cowboy in a white hat holding a rifle, with a white horse's head rising in front of him. Immediately right of it stands a woman in a towering blue-and-white feathered war bonnet and yellow beaded fringe dress. A descending left-hand column of blue score plaques from 900 000 down to 100 000, each paired with a black bison silhouette, is an unusually strong graphic device. Across the top a blue band holds six coloured number circles 5 4 3 2 1 running into the word MILLION.

Full description

A tall, portrait-format painted backglass dominated by a large circular medallion in the upper centre. Inside the circle, a blond man in a floppy white cowboy hat and pale green shirt faces the viewer with a stern expression, holding a rifle upright; below him a white horse's head and neck emerge in profile facing left. Curved yellow-and-red ribbon lettering arcs over the medallion reading BUFFALO BILL, with a small painted label beneath reading DURANGO, CO. and a dark arrow shape. Down the left edge runs a descending column of score values (900 000 down to 100 000) in white numerals on dark-blue rounded plaques, each paired with a black silhouette of a bison. At right stands a woman in profile facing left, wearing a tall blue-and-white feathered war bonnet and a yellow beaded fringed dress, one arm bent at her hip. A dark-blue band across the top carries six coloured circles numbered 5 4 3 2 1 followed by the word MILLION in large white block capitals on a black rectangle. Sky blue and cream clouds fill the background, with a red circular badge of small script at right.
