Full description

Illuminated painted backglass inside a cream/off-white wooden frame with a mitered border. The artwork has a deep royal-blue field with a broad yellow arc along the lower edge, and a large jagged starburst of yellow, orange and red flame-like spikes radiating from the centre behind the main figure. Across the top sits a big blocky title, CIRQUS, in salmon-red/pink letters with cream and black outlines, arched slightly, with the smaller word BROADWAY in outlined capitals directly above it. The central figure is a snarling Bengal tiger, painted in flat comic-book style with black stripes, cream fur and a red open mouth, lunging to the left with both front paws extended and claws out; its striped tail curls up on the right. A spray of red, white, yellow and blue five-pointed stars and small sparkle bursts scatters across the tiger's back and the right side of the starburst. A narrow orange-brown plaque with pale lettering sits just below the tiger's chest between the paws. The image shows glare and a bright reflection across the upper centre, and the lower edge of the playfield below is partially visible.
