City Slicker

The art is a 1930s gangster / Prohibition-era city scene in cream, black, red and gold. A large central illustration shows a woman in a striped blouse, cloche hat and red skirt leaning on the chrome radiator of a big vintage saloon car, with a pistol lying across the bonnet. Behind and below her is a lit-up semicircular fan of segment windows. On each lower side stand two tall cream panels painted with a big brown swirl, flanked by black skyscraper silhouettes. The lower right has a black-and-blue open tourer car with a CHICAGO plate, beside the slingshots. The lower left carries a large round cream instruction card headed CITY SLICKER. Across the top runs a cream banner with red and blue stripes, a compass-star medallion, and the words UPTOWN and QUALIFIED. Five clear plastics on wireform ramps, three blue pop-bumper caps, a large clear saucer and a red diamond drop-target bank sit in the upper half.

Centre: a black 1930s-style hot rod, viewed head-on, bright red body, tall polished chrome grille with a winged hood ornament, two big round chrome headlamps, exposed wire wheels, running-board exhaust pipes. Behind it, a night city skyline of black silhouetted skyscrapers with small yellow and white lit windows against a deep orange-to-cream sky. Left of the car stands a middle-aged man in a grey pinstripe suit, cream shirt, red patterned cravat and pocket square, wearing a grey fedora with a dark band; he holds a long-barrelled rifle diagonally across his chest with both hands. Right of the car stands a woman with shoulder-length black hair, a cream cloche hat, red lipstick, a grey pinstriped double-breasted jacket worn open over a bare chest, a red scarf at the neck and a red sash at the waist, black trousers, and tall silver-grey lace-up boots; her left hand rests on her hip and her right hand raises a long rifle upright. Ground below the car is dark blue with white snow speckles. Two score windows at the bottom glow orange with digits 00 0 0 00. Condition: glass is reflective with a coloured glare band on the left and smudges across the lower centre.
