Full description

Illuminated rectangular backglass/translite in a varnished wooden frame, with no people pictured at all. A green scalloped theatre-curtain valance across the top carries a large pink-and-white cursive title, 'Gottlieb's Duette'. The main field is a cream and pale-blue panel framed by a pink-and-gold sunburst, with a large magenta star behind a white-and-gold rayed star containing a small silver coin marked 25. Two cream scroll placards with gold borders sit either side of the centre: the left reads 'It's more Fun to Compete! / A GAME OF SKILL', the right reads '1 or 2 / CAN PLAY / at the same time'. Below the star, a cream cartouche with a yellow border reads 'BALL IN PLAY' in chunky magenta letters above a vertical stack of pale-green blob shapes. Lower half has two symmetrical player score frames: left in magenta-pink with a circled '1', three reels reading 0 0 9, a '1st PLAYER' banner and a pink rectangular grid window; right in green with a circled '2', three reels reading 0 0 0, a '2nd PLAYER' banner and a green grid window. Bottom centre shows large red-outlined numerals 1 and 2 flanking a small yellow 'PLAYER' oval, above a white signature strip in red script. Dominant colours: emerald green, hot pink/magenta, cream white and gold.

Two cream diamond lozenges reading 'DELUXE' vertically flank the playfield symmetrically. The title 'Gottlieb's Duette' is rendered in bulging pink cursive with a cream drop shadow. A pink-framed '1st PLAYER' window reading 3 3 8 sits opposite a green-and-gold '2nd PLAYER' window reading 0 0 0, with a red 1 = 2 multiplier marker between them.

Full description

A rectangular backglass for an electro-mechanical game, painted in flat hand-lettered cartoon style on a pale sky-blue field framed by a cream/white border. Across the top a large pink-and-cream cursive logo reads 'Gottlieb's Duette', underlined by a swash, set against a dark green scalloped (scale-like) canopy. Centre-top is a magenta circular medallion containing a multi-pointed yellow/magenta starburst surrounding a small green ball-in-slot symbol; flanking it are two cream cartouche panels reading 'It's more Fun to Compete! A GAME OF SKILL' (left) and '1 or 2 CAN PLAY at the same time' (right). Below the medallion a green vertical 'BALL IN PLAY' shape hangs above two stacked green ovals. Two vertical cream diamond lozenges bordered in magenta read 'DELUXE' down each side. Lower half: a pink-framed window labelled '1' containing score reels reading '3 3 8' above '1st PLAYER' in yellow, and a green-and-gold window labelled '2' containing '0 0 0' above '2nd PLAYER'. Glowing red 'TILT' window at lower left, green 'MATCH' window at lower right, '1 = 2' in red and yellow beneath the centre. Small signature plaque at bottom centre.
