Bright red, cream, gold, green field with unfinished wood cabinet.

Distinctive

The most memorable feature is the pair of painted showgirls reclining on a hay bale at the centre of the playfield, one red-haired and kneeling in a red bodice and one dark-haired lying back in a red top and white trousers, with a tiny top-hatted ringmaster beside them. Sixteen black numbered bumper caps on red starbursts sweep in a broad fan from the top centre down to the bottom point. A grey twin-towered castle anchors the top of the green field, with a red horse-drawn wagon to its left and a blue carriage to its right. Two glowing yellow-gold SPECIAL WHEN LIT discs and two large red domed bumpers punctuate the upper half. The whole thing is ringed by pale, unfinished blond wood cabinet sides.

Full description

A 1950s-style electro-mechanical playfield mounted in bare, unfinished light wood cabinet rails, with glass over it. The wood-toned upper third frames a painted circus-and-carnival scene: a grey castle with two round towers sits in the centre of a green field, flanked by a red horse-drawn wagon on the left and a blue horse-drawn carriage on the right, with three yellow-gold disc lamps reading SPECIAL WHEN LIT above them. Sixteen numbered black pop-bumper caps on red starburst bases fan out across the middle and lower half, numbered 1 to 16. In the centre of the playfield, painted directly on the green: two women in red-and-white costumes, a kneeling red-haired woman in a red bodice and white skirt, and a reclining dark-haired woman in a red top and white trousers lying on a hay bale with arms behind her head. A tiny ringmaster in a black top hat and tails stands at centre-left holding a cane. Two large red domed bumpers glow below the castle, and two orange starburst lamps read 50,000 WHEN LIT. Colour is dominated by mid-green, bright red, cream and gold.

Full description

Brightly coloured cartoon-illustrated backglass in two halves. Right: a cream-bordered panel holding a 4x4 grid of white roundels on red, each with a green numeral (top row 1, 14, 5, 11; then 8, 7, 10, 6; 4, 16, 15, 12; 9, 3, 13, 2). Below it a green signboard reads Williams in yellow cursive, and under that a cream billboard reads FOUR CORNERS in tall red block capitals, with red-roofed village cottages and white roads behind. Far right a blond man in a blue shirt and yellow trousers lies sprawled on grass beside a tipped red-and-white cylinder. Left: a blonde woman with headband, pink blouse and pale blue skirt sits on the red fender of a car beside a big whitewall tyre with red hubcap, chin on hand, smiling. Behind her a magenta, orange and yellow streaked sunset sky holds triangular kites in five colours, the word MILLIONS in white outlined capitals at top left, and a leaning white post carrying arrow placards 100,000 to 900,000. Small signs on the grass run 90 down to 10 among white flowers.
