Future Queen

A full pinball playfield shot straight down, framed by black side rails, and dominated everywhere by a saturated cobalt-blue background. Across the very top sits a white rectangular banner lettered VORTEX in tall heavy block capitals, with CAPTURE in smaller capitals directly beneath it, framed in blue. The whole upper half is buried under clear and tinted plastic rampwork: a big clear tube that loops and spirals in on itself at upper left, and a second broad clear ramp that arcs from upper centre over to the right and down, both catching blue-white reflections. Two flat spiral swirl discs, like white pinwheels on dark blue, sit mid-upper-playfield right and upper right. On the right flank a bank of bright red pop-bumper caps and lamps glows hot red. A pair of tall, clear-sided upright posts with red and white striped plastics rise on the right. Down the left edge runs a printed panel carrying small lettering and a vertical arrow graphic, with a small dark rectangle reading LOCK above a printed key, and lower down a gold-toned arrow placard reading GRAND PRIZE. Flanking the centre are two facing columns of green-lit triangular arrow inserts pointing inward, each column of three, set against yellow and red arrow striping. The lower centre carries a large fan of concentric coloured arcs, like a wheel or roulette, and below that a horizontal band lettered BONUS MULTIPLIER above a row of four round red and white inserts. The bottom third is a dark apron with a radiating fanburst of pink, red and blue rays converging on a small gold sunburst boss, flanked by two pale yellow flipper bats in a wide V, with a white-and-pink city skyline silhouette printed along the very bottom edge.

A painted, airbrushed backglass dominated by one enormous stylised female head floating in the centre. The face is built from crisp geometric blocks of cream, magenta, purple and black, with two large almond eyes made of concentric striped segments and a small glossy red mouth; the chin tapers to a long point. A painted backglass dominated by one enormous stylised woman's face filling nearly the whole panel, split straight down the centre by a hard vertical seam so the two halves mirror each other: the left half is black-and-white with a red wedge above the eye, the right half is black-and-white with a pink-and-magenta wedge, and both carry jagged white lightning- or circuitry-shaped stripes across the cheek and jaw. The face has large almond eyes with yellow-green irises and heavy blue-purple eyeshadow, a wide grin showing squared white teeth outlined in black, and full glossy crimson-red lips. A dark navy-blue and black headdress or helmet band with a raised crest sits above the forehead, and green circuit-board traces run down the forehead and around the eyes, with small yellow dot marks near the crest. The background is a black field of thin coloured grid lines (red on the left, green on the right) over a green-and-black checkered floor; at lower left there is a red wireframe pyramid or tetrahedron outline.
