Full description

A printed backglass in a wooden cabinet, dominated by a carnival-raceground theme. The top third is two rows of printed score windows set in alternating red, green, cream and blue trapezoid panels: 10 through 90 on the upper row and 100 through 900 on the lower row, each with a 000 beneath. Below sits a wide pale-pink band carrying the widely letter-spaced word MILLION in white capitals, and under that the main title HANDICAP in huge white block capitals with a heavy black outline and red, blue, green and yellow interior shadows, laid over a rainbow-striped fairground awning of vertical red, yellow, green and blue panels. An orange-red cursive signature sits at the left end of the awning. Beneath the title is a dark red and green grandstand scene packed with rows of small grey-white silhouetted spectators, many with raised arms, behind pink-and-white striped bunting, with a further crowd of colourful seated figures at tables lower down. The bottom third is bright green and holds six house-shaped shield panels in a row, each with a white numeral (11 to 16) above a cartoon character portrait in a different colour, with a small nameplate under each. Yellow corner banners with red script flank the row, and white banners reading WINNER sit in both bottom corners. Condition is good; the glass shows slight reflections.
