Fingerprint: HANG-ON title in sky-blue italic block capitals with ON dropped lower and right, large pale blue-white mass at centre-left, fan of white blade shapes radiating across right half, dark red background, yellow subtitle line, tiny multicoloured badge bottom-left, very dark degraded photograph

Distinctive

The title HANG-ON, set in chunky italic sky-blue block capitals with ON dropped to a second line to the right, is the single unmistakable feature. Second, a fan of long white blade- or strut-like shapes radiating across the right half over a dark red ground. Third, a large soft-edged pale blue-white mass filling the centre-left. Fourth, a small yellow-on-dark subtitle line tucked under the title. Fifth, a tiny multicoloured rectangular badge in the bottom-left corner. The piece is extremely dark and noisy, so the figures are only partly resolvable.

Full description

A badly degraded, very dark photograph of a pinball backglass, roughly square, with a black border edge visible at left and the artwork filling the frame. Across the top runs the only clearly legible element: a large title in heavy italic block capitals reading HANG-ON, lettered in pale sky-blue with a darker blue outline and white edge, the word split so that ON sits lower and to the right of HANG, after a short hyphen or apostrophe-like mark. Immediately below the title is a short line of small yellow lettering on a dark ground, too soft to resolve. The centre of the piece is dominated by a large pale blue-white mass with soft rounded edges, reading as a bulky figure or form, with a smaller pale blob at its upper left. To the right of centre is a fan or spray of long white blade, strut or limb-like shapes radiating outward over a red-and-black ground, with a small turquoise element among them and a crimson shape below. The background is a mottled dark red, maroon and near-black field. A small rectangular badge sits in the bottom-left corner in white, yellow and blue. Heavy grain, colour noise and bleed prevent any further reading.
