Lady Luck / Fortune

A brightly coloured cartoon backglass framed by a wide cream-yellow border whose paint is crazed and cracked all over, with a black spade, a red heart and a second black spade printed across the bottom band. Inside the rounded window a night scene shows a deep blue starry sky, a large white full moon at top centre with white doves and clouds drifting past it, and a pale blue city skyline of lit tower blocks behind the action. A broad golden-yellow staircase zig-zags diagonally up from lower right to upper left in strong perspective, carrying a troupe of performers: a woman in a green feathered showgirl costume, a blonde woman in a magenta bodice with one arm raised, a red-and-yellow jester with arms flung up, a black-haired moustached man in a black tailcoat and white shirt dancing with arms wide, and a man in a red-and-green harlequin costume with arms spread. A small blue cat crouches on the steps near the bottom. At right an ornate orange-and-gold scalloped marquee reads FORTUNE in green letters studded with white bulbs, with five gold discs hanging on strings beneath it, and below that a lounge scene with two men and a red-haired woman at a red bar and a stool with a drink. Lettering includes BALL IN PLAY in gold at lower left and a white pennant banner above the reels reading EURO, ACCEL and FLIP.

Along the bottom, BALL IN PLAY and PLAYERS in yellow on a grey tiled floor, with BALL IN PLAY 1 2 3 4 panels. Bottom edge carries large club-heart-club symbols on a white cracked field. Night-blue sky with stars and a pale moon fill the background.
