Fingerprint: LOVELY LUCY with row of seven identical grinning blue-wigged clowns, large orange-haired woman with yellow bow in ribbon frame, two gold-costumed women against fir trees, rainbow stack of coloured ovals, carnival scene, flat cartoon illustration, green-red-white-yellow-blue
The single most memorable element is the row of seven identical grinning clown heads in blue triangular wigs marching across the width of the glass directly under the title like a repeated print. The second is the large disembodied female head with orange hair and a yellow bow at the centre of a ribbon of score numbers, framed by a red circular wreath. Third, the lower right pair of women in gold ruffled costumes posed against a row of dark green fir trees, flanking a bright yellow multi-pointed starburst. Fourth, the rainbow stack of flat coloured ovals running diagonally up the lower left corner. The glass is visibly aged, with rubbed paint, scratches and a repaired torn patch at the bottom left.

A square backglass headed by a wide green banner carrying the title in huge block capitals, white with a heavy red drop shadow on vertical green stripes. Directly beneath sit seven identical grinning clown heads, pink-skinned with blue triangular hair and red-and-white ruffs, laid out in a row like a repeated frieze. A cream scroll ribbon with a spelled-out word runs below them. A blue and red ribbon arc sweeps across the middle carrying white score figures; at its centre is a large female head with orange-red hair, a red feathered headdress and a yellow bow at the throat. The lower half is a busy carnival scene: on the left a diagonal column of large coloured ovals in yellow, red, pink, purple and orange climbs the corner, beside a tall dark-blue costumed figure with a yellow ruff and a smaller clown in a red-and-white drum-major outfit. On the right, dark green fir trees line a horizon behind two women in gold and orange ruffled costumes with bare legs and arms raised. The artwork is flat, signed cartoon illustration in green, red, white, yellow and blue, and shows worn paint, scratches and a patched lower left corner.
