Fingerprint: Lulu ice skating: magenta circus-style ring outlined in yellow light bulbs numbered 1-9, winged female ice skater in red leotard with arms spread inside ring, flying winged skater on right in short red costume holding yellow ball on one skate, chorus line of five winged dancers.

Distinctive

Dominating the piece is the giant magenta circus-style ring outlined in yellow light bulbs and numbered 1 to 9 in yellow circles, with a winged female ice skater in a red leotard frozen inside it, arms spread and knees bent. Second most memorable is the flying winged skater in a short red costume on the right, leaning forward on one skate with a huge white feathered wing sweeping behind her and a small yellow ball in her hand. A chorus line of five winged dancers in white tutus links the two figures across the pale blue sky. The top is unusually busy: a magenta-and-red scalloped wave valance over a densely packed stadium crowd and a yellow bulb-outlined title in red capitals.

Full description

A 1960s-style pinball backglass, painted in flat airbrushed cartoon art. Across the top runs a scalloped magenta-and-red wave-shaped valance, below it a packed crowd of tiny multicoloured spectators in a stadium stand, and a blue ribbon banner carrying yellow cursive lettering. Beside it the title sits in huge red block capitals outlined in white bulb dots. A curved yellow band with blue dots and a strip of coloured score windows (numbers 000 through 900, plus a cropped word ending MILLIONS at the left and TILT at the right) separates the top from a pale blue sky panel. The main panel shows a women's ice-skating revue: at left a large magenta ring studded with yellow bulbs and ringed with yellow numbered circles 1 to 9 encloses a skater in a red leotard, red cap and silver winged headdress, arms flung wide. At right a second winged skater in a short red costume glides on one skate holding a small yellow disc, and above her a line of five dancers in white tutus with wings and raised arms stands hand in hand. Bottom right sits a red pyramid-shaped hat decorated with green and white lightning bolts and a blue finial, beside a small white square.
