A ring of brightly coloured numbered ovals, each with three dots under the figure, encircles the whole playfield of the artwork. A clownish jester in an orange spotted costume with both arms thrown wide occupies the top-left corner beside a crowned yellow bird. Several small oval windows have been cut, stained or backed with blank metal, leaving grey and white patches in the ring.

A tall, portrait-format painted backglass in a light wood-grain frame. The centre holds a large vertical oval with a rope-and-peg border; inside it a smiling young woman in a cream-white draped dress with bare shoulders and reddish-brown shoulder-length hair, one arm raised, framed by a curling blue ribbon. Above her, arched lettering reads 'MARDI GRAS' in large red block capitals with a white outline, and above that the smaller red script word 'Genco's'. Around the oval, set into a mottled dark green, brown and cream marbled ground, is a ring of roughly twenty rounded scoring windows in bright primary colours, each carrying a big numeral and three small dots beneath it: yellow 700, yellow 600, green 500, red 400, red 300, yellow 200, blue 100, green 90, red 20 and blue 10 along the outer ring, with a second column of smaller ovals down the right edge reading 90, 20, 30, 40 and 50. Upper left is a comic jester in an orange-red costume and spotted cap, arms flung wide, beside a small yellow bird-like creature with a crown.
