Pirates of the Caribbean

A modern solid-state playfield shot under dim club lighting, its artwork a swashbuckling pirate/Arthurian adventure painted on a dark maroon-to-black background. The centre is dominated by a huge tan parchment-coloured circular disc printed like a nautical chart or maze, ringed with black concentric circles and black triangular arrows pointing inward, with a painted bearded man in a wide-brimmed hat and a smaller standing figure just above it. Around the disc radiate large glowing blue-outlined triangular arrow inserts pointing inwards. Flat painted portrait heads of several characters ring the middle: a black-haired man with sideburns at upper centre, a woman with long dark flowing hair at left, an older grinning man's face at lower right, and other male heads. Bright blue LED-lit plastics glow through the arrow inserts. Real chrome wireform ramps and rails snake across the right side, a weathered grey anchor-encrusted post sits left of centre, and a miniature wooden ship/dock structure with a barrel and railings occupies the top-right corner. Pale ghostly faces are painted on the side plastics at the far left.

A square, dark pirate-titled backglass. Across the top, huge gold stone-textured serif letters with black shadow read PIRATES, with a small italic of the stacked between, then CARIBBEAN. Under the title sits a grinning white skull in a red headscarf with hanging coins and beads, laid over two crossed cutlasses and a flintlock pistol, with two flaming torches burning behind it. The background is a smoky brown-and-black seascape: a faint green-tinged sinking galleon at upper left, a pale ghostly figure and a skull at upper right, embossed gold coins down the left edge. A dark carved-wood panel fills the lower two thirds, its top edge carrying four drop-target windows labelled LEFT ORBIT, LEFT RAMP, INNER LOOP and LEFT LANE. It holds an aged parchment treasure map: a red dotted route linking a smoking volcano and the Enter the Devil's Triangle at far left, chest and island groups, a whirlpool and scattered cutlasses, palms, skull-and-crossbones marks, a ship and compass rose at far right. Below the map a wooden ship's helm carries a painted portrait of a long-haired, goateed pirate in a tricorn hat, flanked by white scores, with BONUS 4X and GOLD 45 in round gold-rimmed medallions.
