Distinctive

A grinning bare-chested blond cartoon boxer with folded arms and a red glove tucked under his elbow, standing dead centre inside a white starburst of speed lines. Around him, score values are rendered as coloured balloons or oval pods arcing from 100000 to 900000, repeated in a straight row along the bottom edge. Full description

A painted backglass on a medium-blue ground, lettered CHICAGO above and COIN'S above a huge arched word PUNCHY that sweeps in a wide curve across the top half. PUNCHY is drawn in chunky pale blue-white block capitals with pink and yellow side shading and a black outline, each letter rotated to follow the arc. Down the left edge runs a vertical ladder of rounded rectangles, green at the top and bottom, each carrying a white numeral counting down 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, with the word MILLION printed in white on the green box above the 9 and again below the 1. In the centre stands one cartoon boxer: a bare-chested, tanned, grinning blond man with swept-back hair and heavy black brows, arms folded across his chest, one red boxing glove tucked under his right arm and the other dangling from his raised left fist. He wears dark green trunks with a broad yellow waistband. Behind him is a large white burst of speed lines radiating outward. Oval balloon-shaped number panels in yellow, orange, green, magenta, red, blue and pink arc around him from 100000 up to 900000, and a second straight row of the same coloured ovals runs along the bottom. No score reels or display windows are present; the piece is set in a plain light-wood cabinet frame, and the playfield edge and a metal ball are just visible below.
