The backbox header shows a hand-painted word logo in dripping red-and-white letters.

The outer border is a deep blue night-sky field scattered with white starbursts, ringed all the way round with oversized confectionery: pink, orange, red, green, black and white sugar-coated gumballs, jelly beans, a wrapped toffee, a striped twist sweet, round striped peppermints and cut fruit-like slices, each with a white star-glint. A large inset window with rounded corners is framed by a black band carrying fine gold filigree scrollwork, gold corner diamonds and small gold 'W' monogram medallions top and bottom centre. Inside, the background is a swirling mottled purple and magenta vortex, over which sits the main title in fat cartoon 3D lettering: 'WILLY WONKA' in tall golden-yellow block capitals with a red top hat sitting jauntily on the W, and beneath it 'THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY' in smaller orange-and-yellow serif capitals, all edged with dark brown and cream drop shadows. A 'TM' sits at the lower right of FACTORY. Along the very bottom is dark green undergrowth with cream, orange-red and blue-spotted toadstool mushrooms, blue butterflies, and a red square logo at bottom right.
