X Force

Full-length electro-mechanical playfield photographed through the glass of a cabinet, with the cabinet's chrome-nosed lower edge and the coin door below. The artwork is a bright comic-book fire-brick and searchlight scene in saturated red, yellow, teal, blue and orange. At the lower centre a painted brick arch reads SCORE WHEN LIT in an orange band, with a fan-shaped searchlight rayburst inside the arch. Below that arch is a large painted portrait: on the left a fair-skinned blonde woman with arched brows, red lips and a flight helmet with amber goggles pushed up on her forehead; on the right a fair-skinned dark-haired man with a square jaw and a black high-collared outfit, drawn in flat comic line work. The lower apron carries a white ruled instruction card headed INSTRUCTIONS FOR X-FORCE, a yellow-and-red X FORCE logo in red slab serif letters with a shadowed X above it, a green wireframe grid panel to the right with a red X and a yellow arrow shape, and a Technoplay lozenge badge in blue, red and yellow. Four round pop bumper caps with blue domes sit in clear plastic, and red translucent ramps and a chrome-railed upper playfield fill the top half.

A landscape-format backglass in a black wooden frame, dominated by a giant riveted yellow-and-red pipeline that curves in from the lower left, runs across the sea and exits at the right. A dark-haired man in a pale blue open-neck shirt, bright green trousers and black shoes stands astride the pipe at upper left-centre, holding a long rifle upright and pointing forward; a blonde woman in a green crop top and black leggings with yellow shoes stands beside him, hand on his arm. Behind them a dark blue choppy sea carries two teal-blue helicopters, three small green figures in diving gear in the water, small yellow motorboats, a steel suspension bridge running to a silhouetted city skyline, and a huge yellow sun or explosion glow at upper right against a blood-red sky. The title X Force is in huge slanted yellow letters with red outline and black shadow in the lower right. Below the artwork is a printed metal speaker panel with two black round speakers, two blue lamps, a two-line blue dot-matrix score window, red and yellow striped grille bars, and the words stereo sound.

Painted action-scene backglass. Two figures run along a huge riveted orange pipeline that curves from the bottom left up to the right: a dark-haired man in a green flight suit with a yellow belt, chest emblem and black boots, gripping a silver pistol, and a blonde woman in a green cropped top, high-waisted grey shorts and yellow shoes, also holding a pistol, both facing the viewer mid-run. Behind them a red and orange sunset sky with a white sun, a dark city skyline, blue water, and a grey road or bridge receding to the horizon. A blue helicopter at upper left, a dark blue helicopter below it, a large green helicopter upper right, plus small boats and a tiny green figure. The title X Force is set in large italic yellow letters with black and red outline on a yellow lightning-bolt swash across the lower right. Technoplay logo in the bottom right corner.
