Fingerprint: yanks - huge salmon-orange diamond with dark green diamond nested inside occupying almost whole lower area with red cursive word and mustard-yellow disc containing small pitcher figure in wind-up throw, small lettering and numerals around logo printed upside-down and mirror-reversed reading as strange reversed glyphs, top band works as literal scoreboard two neat rows of outline numerals counting 1-0 then 10-90 with RUNS below

Distinctive

The single most striking feature is the huge salmon-orange diamond with a dark green diamond nested inside it, occupying almost the whole lower area of the glass. Inside that sits a large red cursive word whose tall looping Y sweeps down and left, beside a flat mustard-yellow disc containing a small pitcher figure in white trousers and navy top frozen in a wind-up throw. A second striking detail is that the small lettering and numerals around that logo are printed upside-down and mirror-reversed, so they read as strange reversed glyphs rather than ordinary text. Third, the top band works as a literal scoreboard, two neat rows of outline numerals counting 1-0 then 10-90 with RUNS below in red serif type, several digits drawn in a stylised reversed form. Fourth, the whole glass is photographed in its light wooden frame with heavy glare across the surface, over hand-painted 1970s-80s airbrush artwork.

Setting

  • Dark navy-black scoreboard band across the top
  • Flat grass-green fields down the left and right margins behind the diamond
  • Pale blue-grey sky-like panel in the middle band behind the pennants
  • Tan and ochre abstract shapes along the lower edge behind the figures

Symbols

  • Large rotated square infield diamond shape, orange with a nested green diamond
  • Mustard-yellow disc behind the central pitcher
  • Two counter-rotated question-mark-like hooks flanking the script lettering on the green diamond
  • Vertical stacks of elongated cream, yellow, orange and red pennant or banner shapes down the left and right flanks
  • Two rows of pale outline numerals separated by small coloured dots
  • Orange diamond shapes on the orange field either side of centre
  • A pale blue-grey angular geometric panel at lower centre
  • A dark green and orange rounded object at bottom centre resembling a catchers mask or mitt
  • Small yellow square dots used as separators in the score bands

Lettering

  • Large red cursive script with a long looping capital y for the centre word; bold red serif capitals with white outline for runs; narrow pale outline numerals in two rows, several digits drawn in a stylised mirrored form; small yellow cursive lettering printed upside-down above the main script word; small white numerals at both sides of the green diamond printed mirror-reversed

Full description

A rectangular painted backglass sitting in a light timber cabinet frame, its surface glossy with strong reflections. A dark navy-black band runs across the top carrying two rows of pale outline numerals: a top row counting 1 through 0, and a lower row reading 10 20 30 40 50 60 70 80 90 in white, green, yellow and orange outlined digits separated by small coloured dots, with the word RUNS in red serif capitals centred beneath. Below sits a very large salmon-orange rotated square, outlined in dark forest green, containing a smaller green diamond at its centre. That inner diamond bears a big red cursive word with a long looping swash Y, a mustard-yellow disc with a white-and-navy uniformed pitcher mid-throw, and small upside-down and mirror-reversed lettering and numerals around it. Stacks of cream, yellow, orange and red pennant-like shapes run down both flanks. The lower corners carry painted figures in white baseball uniforms: at left a batter and a crouching catcher, at right two more players.
